Iaapela ng GMA Network ang desisyon ng Quezon City Regional Trial Court sa kasong breach of contract na isinampa nito laban sa dating executive na si Luchi Cruz-Valdes at ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corporation.

Ayon sa GMA Network, hindi kinunsidera ng korte na ang isang opisyal ng isang TV station ay hindi maaaring maging isang talent ng programa sa kalabang istasyon sa magkasabay na pagkakataon.

Hindi raw nararapat na bigyan pa ng GMA Network ng assignment si Valdes sa mga programa nito sa News and Public Affairs habang siya ay nagtatrabaho na bilang isang Vice President for News ng ABS-CBN.

“There is something palpably wrong in the court’s conclusion that Luchi Cruz-Valdes’ position as Vice President for News of ABS-CBN would not in any way affect her work as a talent of GMA,” sabi ng GMA Network.

“Certainly, there is an obvious conflict of interest when an executive of a television station works as a talent in a competing television station,” dagdag pa ng GMA.
